July 6th 2017 Fellow Feather’s Meeting Minutes

In Attendance: Saeid Shekarchi, Kathy Ong, Rob Johnson, Joey Villaflor, Lisa Lesser, Chris Valley, George Artz

Guests / New Members: No new guests or new members.

Great Flights: Lots of flying over the 4th of July weekend. George said today was really good - 800’ south of the bowl. Dinosaur was excellent!

President’s Report (Joey Villaflor): Funston Air Races will be August 26th. Need volunteers for the event.

Vice President’s Report (Wayne Michelsen): Totally forgot the meeting, and we didn’t get to have pizza. Thanks Wayne!

Secretary’s Report (Chris Valley): June meeting minutes posted.

Treasurer’s Report (Lisa Lesser): Nothing new to report.

Clubhouse Officer’s Report (Rob Johnson): Clubhouse is painted. One glider rack has been completed with the help of Diver Dave. John Simpson suggested hiring a landscape crew to keep the launch trimmed in the early months of the year.

Safety Officer’s Report (John Simpson): Pilots are responsible to make sure the launch area is clear and to maintain 25-foot clearance people on the ground. All pilots need to know and adhere to ridge soaring rules. Remember to not land on launch when there are spectators present - you can do your touch and go’s later when the launch is clear. Kathy added new streamers in the LZ - thank you Kathy.

Tech Officer’s Report (Chuck Kranz): Our database is getting worked on. Will be up and running soon.

Administrator Reports:

~ Tandem (Urs Kellenberger): Not present. Nothing to report.
~ Training Bowl (John Simpson): Training bowl is great!

GGNRA Liaison Report (Steve Rodrigues): Not present. Nothing to report.

Old Business: Rob is still looking for Seth Presley regarding his glider spot.

New Business: Brazilian pilots and film crew in town Friday through Sunday this coming weekend.
