looks like we could get some live video going....

With the setup we have now we might not need much.....?
I'll have to bring my laptop and cam next time...

Could we mount a camera on the clubhouse that would zoom in closer to launch and the wind sock, and have it feed to Ustream? that would be nice... Looked like a cool website, easy to use.

That would be a nice upgrade to our current webcam. I wonder how much upstream bandwidth we have on the clubhouse DSL connection, and how much a real time webcam would use for a private stream to the ustream server where it's publicly hosted.
Is there a weatherproof box that the current cam sits in?

Oh, I never thought of that. I guess if you put a long range antennae on a wireless webcam (I guess they make those now?) and/or the router in the clubhouse it could work, subject to bandwidth.

The cam sits behind a plexiglass window, I wonder how far the wireless signal would reach? Camera near launch (comming out of the juniper south of the windsock) on a perch with a 360 deg window? (or a north & south shot?)
(((((We could have a live webcast flying channel on sirrus))))))
just a thought
