Indian Valley Bailout LZ is Closed

A local pilot at Indian Valley requested I post this...

The Indian Valley bailout LZ - aka "Tweetins" - is closed - done - no more - finished.

The new ownership of that land is not as accepting as the prior owner to our sport - so there you have it.

If you fly Indian Valley - get a site intro from a pilot familiar with the area - the Sonoma Wingers frequent that area - check their bulletin board for flying trips, etc.

Bummer, this pretty much shuts down the "Burn" launch site.
Unless of course you are an ACP with a "WildAss" sign-off. ;-)

I just noticed this post, after flying IV all summer. Yes, the bailout is closed and landing there will invite a visit from the sheriff. Avoiding the bailout, however, is very doable for most pilots with a change in technique. Earlier this year, I detailed how to avoid the IV bailout on the WOR BB, here:

...and also, here:

...with some additional discussion, here:

Don't rule out IV - it's a terrific flying site, with plenty of beautiful scenery!
