McClure Octoberfest 2013 is happening this weekend October 12th & 13th.

Go there, fly, and have fun...Aerosmith will be playing Saturday evening, or a dude with a tuba, so it's worth the trip...

McClure is a H3 site, but H2's are welcome as long as they bring beer and their own instructor with pre-arranged accommodations to fly this wonderful site...

If you need directions or more information, you are not worthy...

Ours gliders are locked up in the club house in Fort Funston.
I will ask the members tomorrow if it's ok to ask the park ranger permission to walk in and carry the glider out on foot.
People are allowed to walk in but you have to park in the hwy.

Did you find out if its ok for us to pick up the gliders on foot? I too would like to join McClure Oktoberfest!

I'm in the same predicament; please let us know when you hear from the rangers.

I ran into Ranger Matt yesterday. He doesn't have a problem with us grabbing gliders from the clubhouse to take them out, which is what I was doing. You can park on the shoulder of the turn lane at the entrance, but do NOT block the gate nor park in front of the gate. A fire truck has to be able to get through easily. I didn't ask him whether he was sweeping people out of the park, but the park police I think warned our club not to "occupy" it. So you might want to be quick about it.
