Hi all,

We’re very close to deploying a new Funston webcam. It’ll be more reliable and will have a better, panoramic view of the cliff.

I’m looking for a couple pieces of equipment to help round things out. We already have most of what we need, but I’m missing the following items. Please let me know if you’d be willing to donate or sell at a cheap price:

* An internet-based power control switch, a la http://www.wti.com/ips4.htm or http://www.dataprobe.com/power/iboot.html

* Computer memory - 256/512 MB. Should be PC100 memory, preferably 2x256 MB or 1x512MB. I’m not really sure what memory this old Dell is going to take, but I believe PC100 should work.

Thanks,

Daniel

What model Dell is it?...if it is the XPS T700 you could put three 256 RAM chips in...
one pc100 x 256 runs about $60.00 NEW..shop around
(3 x 256megs of RAM = approx $180.00)
get me that model number of the system and we can check just what memory chips it will take (and lets max it out with new ram)
(that XPS T700 will max out at 768megs (will not take 3 x 512 :-(

I want to say XPS 400 but don't remember for sure. It's actually in the clubhouse at the end of the row near the windtalker if you wanted to have a gander. There's a 5- or 6-digit code on the back that you should be able to plug into the Dell web site to determine the exact configuration. Unfortunately, I think the box is so old that even Dell doesn't remember what it is.
