Fort Funston is famed for its near mythical “Shear”, a weather anomaly that we all yearn to encounter. But calling it a "shear" is incorrect and leads to a misunderstanding of the conditions and how to best fly in them.
We should take note from the sail plane pilots who more accurately call it what it is: Convergence!
