VISTA GRANDE DRAINAGE BASIN TUNNEL AND CANAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL EXPLORATION

Starting Thursday, November 15 through Friday, December 7, borings will be conducted in Fort
Funston to explore the subsurface geologic conditions around the existing drainage tunnel. The
purpose is to gather information on the ground’s composition and strength – information
needed by Daly City to safely and efficiently increase the capacity of the existing storm drainage
tunnel to relieve seasonal upstream flooding.

The work will take place Monday– Friday, (excepting Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday), from
7am– 5pm. Each 30’ by 30’ work area will be temporarily fenced off with orange construction
fencing; work will occur in only one location at a time.

alternative #7 will drill a 15 foot diameter tunnel within 20 ft of our Clubhouse. the top of the tunnel will be about 150 feet deep and would not affect the building.
