Dog attacks, help needed!

Postby Steve Rodrigues » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:34 pm

The 2010 flying season is just getting underway and already dogs are attacking hang glider pilots. Again!

In spite of our formal requests, the GGNRA is bound by a court order and is not allowed to enforce the dog leash laws that exist on all other National Park Service lands.

This will continue to be the case at Fort Funston until either the official proposed rules making process is complete (years to go), or, we convince the courts and other authorities that ours and the public safety is in jeopardy.

We need as much evidence as possible to support our claims, so please send me your photos and video, or links to video, of any dog conflicts that you witness. Here is a great example:

Thanks Andy, nice video, and great landing under pressure!

Thanks in advance to everyone else who can help convince the authorities that our members need protection from being attacked.

"Winston" lives in Chattenooga; I hope he doesn't visit Funston:
