This goes out to the community in general. I live in san jose and i want to give paragliding a shot. I was wondering if you could help me out in making this happen.

1. let me know if you are aware of any places that rent paragliding equipments.

2. would someone experienced in the art like to mentor? I can compensate for your time and effort. :)

3. Suggested guides for theory and technicalities?

My suggestion: Take up hang gliding instead!
I've done both and like HG much better. More of a feeling of flying, zooming around like Superman, not just sitting in a chair slowly floating along. Accidents can happen with either sport, but at least with hang gliders, you always have a solid airfoil to keep you flying. We have a number of instructors around if you are interested. They can teach you everything you have expressed interest in. Cheers!

I've done both as well - and I say take up whichever one looks interesting to you. They're different. Neither is "better". Otherwise we could say take up sailplanes, or whatever is "better" than that.
