Here's another point of view. http://friendsofhatcreekrim.bravehost.com
no helmets required.
who wants to fly without one?
how do you spell BIKER?

We Bay Area pilots revere the ' less' regulated Forest Service lands .
for more...see the last post if you're short on time

It's too bad and irresponsible IMHO to disregard the Forest Service and USHPA information found on the Hat Creek Rim web site (http://www.hatcreek.info). The Forest Service controls the flying site, the idea we can go about our business and disregard their wishes is misguided and shortsighted. Likewise, the idea that the site can't be shut down by the Forest Service is lacking credibility. The USHPA makes it clear what our responsibilities are at an insured site (even if its on FS land) and the Forest Service appreciates our efforts. Follow the link and see the information for yourself. The majority of the flying community has long supported and used the site responsibly. Now is not the time to change that trend.

I appeal to every pilot headed to the Rim to take the time to follow the suggested site protocol. If you have questions feel free to call 916.838.1064.
