TREASURER’S REPORT

• We’ll have a year-end summary next month
• September - $5460 -ish
• Citibank won’t give us any advice about the $5,000 limit. We have to check with an accountant. We need to check with Robin for a source of this concern.
• We did find some info on the IRS web site. Looks to Attila as if we don’t have to file unless we have over $25,000/yr income.
• We could call the IRS – they’re not busy this time of year. Do we have any accountants in the club? Daniel can check with his accountant friend.

OLD BUSINESS

Waiting list
• Tom White, Jonas given slots
• At last meeting we identified 4-6 additional spots that are free now.
• Henry, Steve, Daniel to stay after the meeting to confirm who is in which slot
• Henry to call several people who don’t fly or with old gliders about giving up their slots
• Annette is going to try to sell her glider
• Briant Walter gave his spot up.
• Can anyone contact Walter Pallock (sp?)? Can’t get hold of him. Spot 66

Windsock Pole
• Swivel at the top needs to be replaced. Larry has the authority to go out and buy a new one. He’ll put in that and a new sock.
• Motion: give Larry authority to buy and replace swivel. All but Raffy in favor. Motion passed.

Keys and locks and tags
• Locks have been changed.


NEW BUSINESS

Nick Davila – film maker in Stanford’s graduate film program
• Making a short film about a pilot’s story. Chose Harold Johnson as the subject.
• B&W film. Portrait of Harold. Pursuing HG later in life.
• He will allow us to put the movie on our web site.
• Also will be formatted for DVD and VHS
• Looking for a grant from USHGF; USHGF in favor, but they are looking for local support too.
• In return, he’ll give us a credit in the film, invite us to the screening, give us copies, provide downloadable version for flyfunston.org
• Screening is first or second week of December – he’ll email us We could use it for promotional purposes, though not for selling.
• Motion: $400 grant, in return for permission to put the film online, credit in the film and a pointer for anyone who wants to learn how to fly to www.USHGA.org. All but Raffy and Larry in favor. Motion passed.

Cleaning the Local Site
• Paying someone $40/month to keep the site clean
• Brent puts a lot of effort into keeping the site clean.
• Motion: pay Brent $40/month to keep the site clean. Review again in June. Raffy abstains. All other in favor. Motion passed.
