Re-paving at the Fort

This just in from the GGNRA:

A Federal Highways (Not NPS/GGNRA) pavement patching project is planned for the Fort Funston parking lots next week. The exact timing will depend on weather and
other unpredictable factors.

Right now, microsurfacing is slated for next week, Tues 10/16 and Wed 10/17.

Striping of spaces is slated for the following week, Wed 10/24 and Thurs 10/18, but these dates are not officially confirmed .

It looks like they will do the north lot on day one (near Fellow Feathers) and then the south lot on day two (near ESC). We should be able to park in whichever lot is not being worked on at
the time.

the contractor had a front end loader picking up the sand that has drifted onto the pavement edges, and dumping that sand on top of the ice plant that grows along the path to the clubhouse. this contractor should have put that sand elsewhere. there's hummocky mini sand dunes now. this cut rate federal contractor is unsupervised and needs to be watched for code violations.
